Dr. Fulvia Banu, MD is an experienced physician with over 20 years of practice of medicine in outpatient and inpatient settings who provides exemplary and compassionate patient care.

At her private practice in Plantation, Florida, Dr. Banu offers comprehensive medical care for patients above 18 years of age with focus on wellbeing and prevention as well as treating common diseases. Her comprehensive medical care includes annual and semiannual physical exams, well women exam, sick visits, in-office procedures.

As an internal medicine physician with prior training in rheumatology, Dr Banu is especially focused on the needs of adults and geriatric patients, with some of her areas of specialty being osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis treatment, as well as menopause support, adult wellness, antiaging and rejuvenating treatments.

Dr. Banu was born and raised in Romania, earned her Medical degree at Carol Davila Medical School in Bucharest, Romania, completed her 5 years of residency training in Rheumatology/Internal Medicine at  Dr. Ion Cantacuzino Hospital in Bucharest, and practiced as rheumatologist in inpatient and outpatient settings for 10 years after residency.  Upon relocation to Florida, Dr. Banu obtained her ECFMD accreditation and completed her Internal medicine residency training at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida, after which she worked for Healthy Partners Primary Care in Hallandale Beach, Florida providing valuable care to a multicultural population, where she added a significant experience in geriatric managed care to her expertise before starting her private practice in 2022.

Dr. Banu is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. She is cofounder and vice president of Romanian American league, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serve Romanians who live in South Florida. She is fluent in Romanian and English, speaks fair Spanish and French.

In her free time, dr. Banu enjoys gardening, bike riding, spending time with family and friends and planning nature trips.
